Here is What Some of the Readers Are Saying
Don’t just take it from me, listen to what some of the readers have to say!
As a recently arrived migrant, I now know first-hand the challenges of getting a job in Australia. This book is the most comprehensive book that is specifically written for migrants. You will be surprised to know the differences of job hunting in Australia and this book will lay a good foundation, to begin with. Written in collaboration with experts this book is a must have!
Jason’s use of experienced career development practitioners to assist him means that the book addresses all the major issues surrounding career development and employment in a very professional manner. I recommend the book as an extremely useful and valuable resource to those new to Australia and those already in Australia who are finding it difficult to make career progress in a complex and challenging environment.
The information and content are extremely well structured in its flow covering questions that any new migrant may have in relation to securing a job in Australia. I wish I had this kind of information at my disposal when I first migrated to Australia, as it would have made job seeking so much easier.
“It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that they are difficult” – Seneca
As a migrant myself, I moved to Australia, along with my wife, on a Permanent Residents Visa in 2014.
From my own personal experience, I can tell you that getting a job is one of the most challenging parts of the migration journey. A majority of the migrants arriving on a Permanent Resident Visa will probably be on the SOL or CSOL and have their skills assessed as part of their eligibility requirements. One would then safely assume that the relevant industry will have ample job opportunities when the migrant arrives. The ground reality, however, is a lot different.
Unless you are one of the fortunate ones who has got a placement before you have even landed in Australia, or if you are in a booming industry which is seeking professionals with a niche skill set, your big first break in Australia may take a while.
This book is an attempt to provide the reader with ample tools and resources to help you jump the employment queue and get your dream job in the shortest time possible. Created with the help and support of industry experts, there is a wealth of information derived as a result of in-depth research online, as well as practical tips gained from fellow migrants who have paved the way for us. Nearly 190,000 skilled migrants will land in Australia every year. The three-year migration lull during Covid only means that the competition for visas (and jobs) will only increase. Are you prepared for the competition?
